HARD FOUGHT VICTORY

A late goal from Alberto Aquilani gave Italy a hard fought victory when they played against Denmark on October 11th. The ‘Azzuri’ continued their rampant run in the qualification rounds as they sealed their spot for the upcoming World Cup.

Not only that but also a positive start in this season of the Italian League Serie A for Fiorentina in which Alberto Aquilani has played a crucial part for his team. Being featured in a consistent manner in the squad guided by Vincenzo Montella, this season started in a upbeat fashion for the former AC Milan player.

Despite being a fairly regular and consistent player for Fiorentina, there still have not been contract talks for the midfielder as his agent stated “The goal with the national team? It’s true that it was a lucky goal, but he found himself in the right place at the right time,” said the agent. The latest sports betting from the likes of Unibet suggest that a new contract will be signed imminently.

“Alberto never stands still. He’s a player who combines quality with quantity.“Every time he goes to the national team he’s happy and he wants to stay in this group so he can go play in the World Cup in Brazil.

“His renewal? We still have no meetings scheduled with Prade. Perhaps after a few important games we’ll have a talk with Fiorentina.”

Aquilani’s agent went to a radio to talk about his client’s current situation with the club in what seems to be that they are in a stalemate position. Although it seems hard to believe that Montella would allow such a key player from their team to leave the club and also taking into the consideration the fact that they signed him up from Liverpool not long ago.

MISTAKES

The manager of Fiorentina, Vincenzo Montella, has admitted that his team made quite a few mistakes in its last Serie A game against Parma.

Viola was stopped to draw by Parma the other day. Both the teams scored two goals each in that game.
At one point of time, it seemed as if Fiorentina would take 3 points away from that game. They were ahead by 2-1 going into the stoppage time, but, in the last few moments, they lost their focus just a bit and that cost them a couple of points. Massimo Gobbi scored the equalizer for Parma in the second minute of the injury time and made sure that his team would also secure a point from the game.

Now, in their next match, Fiorentina has to take on the Ukrainian club Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk. That’s a Europa League encounter and will take place at Dnipro Arena on Friday.

Talking to the reporters yesterday, Montella said that in the match against Dnipro, his players shouldn’t repeat the same mistakes that they committed against Parma.

The Fiorentina boss said, “We committed some mistakes in the game against Parma especially in the first 45 minutes. We should avoid committing those mistakes again on Friday. I want a better effort from the boys against Dnipro.”

“We want to put up good performances in the Europa League matches. It’s a big tournament for us.”
“Dnipro is a balanced team. They have got match winning players. We will have to play quality football to put them under pressure.”

Fiorentina had put up a great show in their first Europa League game against Pacos de Ferreira. That game was played last month and Viola had won it by 3-0.
Fiorentina is currently at the top of the Group E points table.
