Alberto Aquilani Starts a New Journey with Amazing Success
After spending a year without a club, the Italy midfielder formally announced his retirement in 2019 at the age of 34. Soon after his retirement, he got the opportunity to start his coaching journey. After serving as Giuseppe Iachini's first team manager's assistant for a short time, Aquilani was chosen to lead Primavera, the under-19 team competing at the top level of Italian youth football.
Also, soon after he planned a return back to his favorite club in England. Sadly, the stint did not last too long this time around with a string of poor performances. Hodgson played in the middle of the park while he was a visitor at Anfield. Aquilani completed a second loan period away from the team at the start of the following campaign as he once more moved back to his home country with AC Milan.
After spending one whole year with Fiorentina, Aquilani finally made a switch to the Italian league. He opted to retire at the end of the 2017–18 season after focusing on earning a position for himself at Bournemouth. Later, he returned to Italy and carried on managing the team that he always admired. Currently, the coaching side of his journey is going on pretty well with consistent performances from the team like his players.
