The manager of Fiorentina, Vincenzo Montella, has said that his team should play with a bit more ruthless approach.

La Viola won by 4-3 in their previous Serie A game against Hellas Verona on Monday, but, Montella didn’t look that happy with the performance of his team. According to him, his team should have found the net a few more times in that game.

Talking to the reporters in the post match press conference, the Italian manager said, “I would like the boys to be a bit more ruthless, both up front and back. Yes, we won today, but, we wasted quite a few goal scoring opportunities too. We should have won this game more convincingly.”

“We need to make some improvements in defence as well. We need to focus better. I am not taking the credit away from the opposition. They played well to score those 3 goals.”

However, despite winning the game against Hellas Verona, Fiorentina couldn’t move up in the Serie A points table. They are still at the 5th position.

La Viola has played a total of 14 Serie A games this season out of which they have won 7. They have been defeated in 6 games, while, in the remaining one game, they have ended up sharing points. They are currently equalized with the no. 4 Inter Milan in terms of points, but, their goal differential is poorer than that of Inter and that’s why they are at no. 5.

Fiorentina will have to face tough test in their next game as they will be up against an in form team i.e. AS Roma. Roma has already secured 10 wins in the ongoing Serie A and they are currently just 3 points behind the table toppers Juventus.
