GOMEZ TIPPED FOR FIORENTINA

The sporting director of Bayern Munich, Matthias Sammer, has said that Mario Gomez wants to make a move to Fiorentina this summer. However, Sammer has also made it clear that Munich will not let Gomez go at a lesser transfer fee.

According to the reports, Munich wants a transfer fee of 20 million Euros for Gomez, but, Fiorentina is not ready to pay them that much amount at this point of time.
Gomez hadn’t got that many playing opportunities in the last season. Mario Mandzukic was preferred ahead of him and the 27 years old German international wasn’t too happy with that. He wants to join Fiorentina in search of more playing chances.

When asked about Mario Gomez’s transfer, Sammer said, “Mario wants to go to Fiorentina, but, the deal will not get finalized until they pay as much as we are demanding. We are not going to let him go at a lesser amount.”

It doesn’t seem that Fiorentina will increase their bid for Gomez. Yesterday, while talking to the reporters, their sporting director Daniele Prade said, “Mario is a star player and any club would want a big amount for him. Munich is no different. But, right now, we can’t afford to spend that much money.”

There are some other clubs as well which are interested in Gomez, but, the German striker only wants to sign for La Viola.

Gomez had joined Bayern Munich in 2009 after leaving Stuttgart. The transfer fee paid by Munich for buying him was reported to be somewhere between 30 and 35 million Euros.

Gomez has been a consistent performer for Munich in the last 4 seasons. He has so far featured for them in 174 matches and has found the back of the net 113 times.
