MISTAKES

The manager of Fiorentina, Vincenzo Montella, has admitted that his team made quite a few mistakes in its last Serie A game against Parma.

Viola was stopped to draw by Parma the other day. Both the teams scored two goals each in that game.
At one point of time, it seemed as if Fiorentina would take 3 points away from that game. They were ahead by 2-1 going into the stoppage time, but, in the last few moments, they lost their focus just a bit and that cost them a couple of points. Massimo Gobbi scored the equalizer for Parma in the second minute of the injury time and made sure that his team would also secure a point from the game.

Now, in their next match, Fiorentina has to take on the Ukrainian club Dnipro Dnipropetrovsk. That’s a Europa League encounter and will take place at Dnipro Arena on Friday.

Talking to the reporters yesterday, Montella said that in the match against Dnipro, his players shouldn’t repeat the same mistakes that they committed against Parma.

The Fiorentina boss said, “We committed some mistakes in the game against Parma especially in the first 45 minutes. We should avoid committing those mistakes again on Friday. I want a better effort from the boys against Dnipro.”

“We want to put up good performances in the Europa League matches. It’s a big tournament for us.”
“Dnipro is a balanced team. They have got match winning players. We will have to play quality football to put them under pressure.”

Fiorentina had put up a great show in their first Europa League game against Pacos de Ferreira. That game was played last month and Viola had won it by 3-0.
Fiorentina is currently at the top of the Group E points table.
